Superb Flight Training is a small flying school, run by experienced
instructors who enjoy sharing their love of flying with students.
We all instruct because we enjoy it, and you will find the experience
very different from the average commercial flying school.
Our instructors are mostly aged around 40, and bring a wealth of
experience to their instruction. Several are volunteer Air Force jet
pilots and one is a Boeing 737 instructor for South African Airways. All
training takes place under the guidance of our two in-house Designated
Flight Examiners, Class I.
Our aim is to provide a solid basis for your future flying, whether
you intend to fly your own aeroplane, airliners or even helicopters. We
use small training aircraft, but you will learn perspectives that are
not limited to light planes. We have made a huge effort to expose ourselves
to airline, helicopter and charter operations, so that we will not teach
you anything that you will have to un-learn later.
The school operates from
Kitty Hawk,
a privately-owned airfield
on the eastern edge of Pretoria. A thriving flying fraternity operates
from here, with over 100 resident aircraft and a handsome clubhouse
providing meals and functions.
We also provide a range of advanced instruction services. We can
offer Flight Reviews and Instrument Proficiency Checks to revalidate
pilot certificates issued by the FAA in the USA. We also offer
tailor-made advanced training on a range of aircraft, including
Part 135 and Part 121 recurrent and initial training for professional
pilots and type ratings on a range of turboprop and jet aircraft.
Generally, two of our instructors are there full-time, with the others
being available mostly on weekends and before or after work.
