Track record Safety is our first priority. No-one has ever been injured while flying with SFT. The school opened its doors on 17 December 2003, the centenary of the Wright Brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk. The training covers a wide range, from basic training on two-seater trainers to advanced training for professional pilots on large jets. Our students continue to excell elsewhere. During 2009, one of our former students, Neels van Deventer, and his navigator won the President's Trophy Air Race in their Cessna 172. Many of our former students are now flying as professional pilots. Two of our former instructors run their own flying schools. At least three of our former instructors have become training captains for airlines. We now average around 200 hours per month, rapidly adding to these totals.
